Getting Started

  • How do I rent a storage unit?
    Renting is simple and can be completed entirely online. Choose your unit, complete the rental agreement, and submit payment through our secure website. You’ll receive access details once your rental is finalized.
  • What is the minimum rental period?
    Storage units are rented on a month-to-month basis, with a one-month minimum.
  • Do you require a security deposit?
    There is no security deposit required. We simply collect the first month’s rent at move-in.

What you need

 

  • What documentation is needed to rent a unit?
    A valid, government-issued photo ID is needed. If you already have tenant insurance, you may also be asked to provide proof of coverage.
  • Is tenant insurance required?
    Yes. Tenant insurance helps protect your belongings while in storage. You’re welcome to use your own coverage or select a policy during the rental process if needed.

Units & Use

 

  • What type of storage do you offer?
    We offer storage for residential, business, and vehicle use, including RVs and boats. Units are indoor, non-climate-controlled, and feature convenient 24/7 drive-up access.
  • What items are prohibited from being stored?
    For safety and compliance, certain items are not permitted in storage units. This includes hazardous, illegal, or dangerous materials such as explosives, flammable or toxic substances, hazardous waste, batteries of any kind (including lithium-ion and lead-acid), tires, food or perishable items, animals, plants, or anything that may create odors or attract pests. Storage units may not be used for habitation or business operations.

How do I access my storage unit?

You have 24/7 access to your unit. Tenants provide and maintain their own lock for individual units.

Who has access to my storage unit?

Access to your storage unit is limited to you and anyone you choose to authorize. SmartSpace Storage does not access tenant units.

What type of lock do I need?

A disc lock is required for all storage units.


Payments & Billing

 

  • How do I make a payment?
    You can set up automatic payments through your online tenant account to help ensure you never miss a due date. We accept debit cards, credit cards, and ACH bank transfers. Rent is due on the 1st of each month.
  • How do I update my automatic payment information?
    You can update your payment method at any time by logging into your online tenant account and making changes under the billing or payment settings.
